Word Dictionary

When I try to add a word to the dictionary (English) I find that the "add to
dictionary" option is not an option - it is greyed out.
How do I fix?

It is possible that the KB article “You receive an error message when you
add a word to the custom dictionary in Word 2003†at
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=813996 will help (though it seems to be
AWOL at the moment)

One possibility is that your custom dictionary is set to the wrong language.
On the Spelling & Grammar tab of Tools | Options, click Custom
Dictionaries... Select Custom.dic and choose Modify... Make sure that
Language is set to "All languages."
