Word cannot access internet websites

My OS is Vista Ultimate. After my most recent Office 2007 update, through
windows update, word 2007 is now unable to connect to the internet. This
occurs when trying to click on a website link, trying to get online help or
updates through the options menu, or to contact Microsoft. Word claims that
there are restrictions on the computer. This is incorrect, as Microsoft
Office help in Word can easily access the internet.

All of my system settings including internet, and DSL settings are set
correctly. I have spent more than 4 hours making sure of it. This incident
happens no matter what browser is set as default, IE or Firefox. This is
most likely related to defects in Microsoft software. However, if anybody
has any suggestions, please let me know. Thanks for your help.

I have checked all firewall programs. Norton Internet Security says that
Word is working fine. This problem shows up even with any firewall turned
off, either Norton or Windows Firewall. Word 2007 Professional still has the
same problem.
