Word Addressbook and Outlook

Hi, I have Office 2007 on a Vista computer. When I am in Word, and
attempt to bring in an address via address book, the Word app shuts
down. However, if Outlook is active, the address book function works
correctly. Is there something that I have not set up correctly? Thanks.

I'm not sure which address book you are using here. Outlook usually uses a
representation of the Contacts folder.
If you are using that same address book in Word then it needs to access
Outlook and run the Outlook process. There might be an issue with Word
running that process which is solved with Outlook open.

Which version of Word, and where did you find its address book icon?

I am using Word 2007. The address book icon can be found in two places,
one in the Envelope/Label dialog box, to the right of "Delivery
Address." The other is in the Quick Access Toolbar (added to Quick
Access Toolbar via Customize Quick Access Toolbar|Chose Commands
From|All Commands|Address Book) PPM

Both should work as long as you have your Outlook Address
Book Service configured correctly. Verify that you have.
