I am trying to insert an Excel file orientation of Landscape into a word
document with a portrait orientation. Any Ideas?

Of course we have ideas!

Insert a section break before the Excel insert (and if there's regular text
after the insert, put another section break there, too). Use the Breaks
button on the Page Layout tab of the ribbon to do this.

Then put the cursor anywhere in the section that contains the insert, and
click the Orientation button on the Page Layout tab; select Landscape.
