I am doing an apa style essay and need to have headers on each page in
consecutive numerical order, but when I get to page 4, the header changes on
page two to the same header on page 4, ie 1,2,3,2 it won't go 1, 2, 3, 4. how
do i get the headers to go 1, 2, 3, 4?

Are you talking about headers at the top of every page, or headings
that separate sections and subsections of your text? Either way, I
don't think they'd have commas in them, so could you explain more
clearly what you're talking about, and also say what version of Word
you're using?

I am using word 2007, what i mean is i have a four page essay and at the top
right of each page it has to have a header label for example the header on
page one should say "Body Paragraphs 1", page tow should say "Body
Paragraphs 2", and so forth to page four, the first three page follow
order 1, 2, 3 but whne i get to page four and type "Body Paragraphs 4" it
changes page 2 to what I typed in the header on page 4.

The idea of a header is to repeat on every page. Don't type in the page
number; instead use the Page Number button in the Header & Footer section of
the contextual Header & Footer Tools | Design tab of the Ribbon.
