Word 2007 "Read Only"

When keying and saving a document, it will suddenly switch to a 'read only'
document, forcing me to rename the document in order to continue keying or
editing it. This seems to happen intermittently, and I don't know why it is
happening. I have not set the document to 'read only', but the document will
CONVERT to read only. Please advise what I might be doing wrong.

i am also getting this problem also, as well as when i am opening the
document it is fine and then i sav ethe document its saves ok then i close
word ( i then look on the server and the doc is not open by any user) then i
ry and open the document it states its read only its hapening on a number of
documents.

Hi Craig, I am not very 'computer savvy' but I have taken a look at my
computer and I belong to a network, and have two hard drives, C&D. I have
everything stored on the C drive. I have My Sharing folders but have nothing
stored on them. As far as I can see, nobody else has access to my files,
even though I belong to a network. Please advise.
