word 2007 printing brackets

I am protecting part of my document using the "No changes (Read only)"
option, and highlighting certain segments as exceptions. Those segments I am
allowing everyone to edit. This is displayed on the monitor as square
brackets surrounding the text that has exceptions.

The problem is that these brackets are also printing! How can I stop this?

Did you ever receive an answer to this question? I am struggling with this as
well and have not found another posting like this or the answer to your
question. Please help.
