Word 2007 Errors in using bullets or boldface

Has anyone encountered problems w/Word 2007 when using boldface? Mine will
bold the entire article instead of the line/paragraph. Undo will correct but
it has to be done each time. Seems to have to do with including the
punctuation at the end of the sentence/paragraph. Bullets will work, then
when you click to stop using bullets, it removed all the bullets from the
document.

Got any ideas?"

The problem in previous versions is explained at

solution path will be slightly different in Word 2007, but the cause of the
problem is undoubtedly the same.
