Word 2003 - File saving

Recently everytime I go to close a Word document, I am prompted to save.
This occurs whether or not I make a change to the document. To my knowledge,
there have been no changes made in the options either. Please help.

Version of Word?

Might as well be an Add-In that changes something on startup. Up to Word
2003, look in Tools | Templates and Add-Ins, whether the list contains
any of these. We tell you how to start Word in Safe mode w/o these, than
you'll see whether things change.

Robert,

Thanks for the infomation; it helped tremendously. The change that occurred
has nothing to do with Word in particular but with the fact that a signature
pad was added to my system. This had implications across the board and if
not for your assistance I would not have made the connection.

you're welcome!

Now you've triggered curiosity here: are you using this signature pad
with Word? Like signing a letter, and a picture of your signature is
added to the document?
