Word 2003 curser problem

When typing my curser has suddenly become unstable--jumping errantly to other
parts of the typed text....please help?

Yes. A Dell Inspiron E1705. The local computer shop added a wireless card
to this and my central PC so I could print remotely, etc. I have had this
laptop for years, but never this problem.

I appreciate any help. The local guy suggested a "patch" but after
following his instructions, I still "skip around".
