word 2003 crashes video card

Whenever I use Word 2003 it crashes my display after about 1 to 15 minutes
usage. The crash merely turns my screen black without affecting the
computer. The crash only seems to occur when my display settings are set to
1024 x 768. It seems fine when run on 800 x 600. All other applications
(even video intensive ones) work fine. The video card I use is an ATI Radeon
9600XT and all drivers, updates and BIOS are up to date. Very frustrating -
can anyone help?

Try reducing your display adapter's hardware acceleration setting in Start |
Control Panel | Display | Properties | Advanced.
