Word 2002 dictionary used to look up word meanings

We would like to know if MS Word 2002 dictionary can be used to look up the
meanings of words or is there a third party dictionary that works with Word
that would allow us to look up word meanings and also a thesaurus.

Word 2002 *has* a thesaurus. Click on the word in question and press
Shift+F7.

Word used to work with MS Bookshelf, but I'm not aware if that product still
exists and/or is integrated with Office. In Word 2003, you can right-click a
word and choose Look Up, which is what you're looking for. Unfortunately...
you're using Word 2002.
