Word 2002 Change Lines

D

Don J.

I have a large document that I need to print change lines in. The change
lines all appear fine during the edit and even on a print preview, but when
printed the lines are all in the left border. This document is 2 columns per
page and change lines are set to print left border. The change lines appear
correctly on the left of both columns until print. Same with outside or right
border setting, they appear correctly until printed. Is there a work around
for this or do I have to revert to drawing a line for every change? Is this a
problem with Word 2002 and if so has it been corrected in later versions?
Thanks in advance for any and all help...

Since you're at an early stage of editing/proofing, why not simply not
format your text as two columns until after the edits are approved?

Also, what happens if you make a pdf rather than a paper printout? If
the lines survive there, you can print your pdf instead of your Word
file.

This is not the early stages. It is an operational manual that will be
printed for a staff of people and the change lines are needed to point out
changes on this revision. Over 600 pages all 2 columns of an existing manual
that is being revised. I will try the pdf solution. Does anyony know if later
versions of Word have corrected this issue?
