Word 2000 opens up half window...

I have an issue with Word 2000 when using it as the email composer/editor. A new email opens up half of a window when using Word 2000. I havemaximized the window, closed it and reopened it fine. When closing out of Outlook and reopening it, it revers back to the half window when composing a new email message. Word 2000 itself does not open a half window, it opens up maximized. Is this a Word 2000 bug?

Manu users have found many problems with using Word as Outlook's
editor. The easiest way around the problem is to not use it for such
