Wont Recognize Cd R Disk

Please some1 help me. I really am not to great with computers and all's
i wanna do is a burn a cd but every time i enter a blank cd into the
disk slot, a message pops up tht says please insert disk into dvd drive
but tht is wht i had just done and this happens over and over again. why
isnt my dvd rom recognzing my cd r disks?. what is the problem?

What is the make/model of your CD-RW and/or DVD+/-RW drive?

One thing that I've seen happen - your CD-R has a maximum burn speed ( let's
say 32x) and your program is set to burn at 40x - that will give you the
same error. Check that your burn speed in the program is less than or equal
to the max burn speed of your media.
