won't display attachment icon when sendin email

When I create a new email I get the usual set of icons:

Address book and "TO"
Address book and "Cc"
Subject:

But when I add an attachment to my email, another line does not pop up
below! How do I get it show that I have attached a file to a particular
email and also display how large it is, just like it did in Outlook
Express? I can check the sent folder an see that an attachment was
added and went through, how do I get it to show up here.

Thanks...
