Wonderful "WHOA's" With XP!

HEELLLPPP!!!!
Let's see where do I begin?!?!? Ah, yes Feburary 2003,
my first tax return worth mentioning came, in the form of
good ole US greenbacks. Being the ambitious musician
that I am, at 23 years of age, I figured out that it
would be most beneficial for me to "begin the BUILDING
phase of my home-based PC recording studio" I RUSHED
out, rather carelessly and bought all the components
required to build "STUDIO" (the name of my PC). Between
3 local computer stores G&A Computers, CompUsa, and
Circuit City I spent a little over $2000 on my main
components; Gigabyte GA-7VA motherboard, AMD Athlon(tm)
XP 1800+ 1541 MHz, 20GB Hard Drive and later an
additional 80GB Hard Drive, CD-RW (which got thrown away
about 2 months after I got it - exhibit A "the first $100
wasted), Creative Audigy Sound Blaster ( suggested to be
the most cost effective way for immediate recording
capabilities but you will soon see - ITS ONE OF THE
REASONS I'M WHERE I'M AT RIGHT NOW!!, 512 MB of DDRAM,
HyperX 512 mb DDRAM (bought this just recently),
External USB CD burner, 15" Flat screen monitor, CD-ROM,
Floppy Drive, Mouse, Keyboard, Surge Protector, and High
speed Cable connection is billed monthly without fail.
I could elaborate on all of this even more but I'll get
to the prize factor, SONAR 2.2XL digital multitrack
recording system at a painful $420.00 and an OEM version
of windows XP for $120. I don't want to purchase those
again.
In any event, I'm not the most intelligent man in
the world, Mr. Gates, as a matter of fact right now I
feel rather studpid. Your wonderful Windows invention is
an asset to my theraputic recording sessions but damn it
why'd you have to go and throw that REMOTE CONNECTION
OPTION for MICROSOFT to gain access with? True, I
understand you gotta make more Billions but could you
have used a discreet title in the START\CONTROL
PANEL\ ADMINISTRATION TOOLS\COMPUTER MANAGEMENT\ EVENT
VIEWER\ APPLICATION and SECURITY folders for that
connection. It throws us "Not So Computer oriented
People" way off. I figured someone was trying to hack
into my system and I had just bought the damn thing and
put it together. So immediately I began my 7 or 8 month
journey of discovering just how many things I could F***
up. If I saw a file, anywhere, that gave me a slight
suspicion of someone gaining access to my computer
remotely, I deleted it. The default user, program files,
Windows XP on several occasions, and 4 years of writing
that got recorded during the other available time I had
got destroyed on the 2nd format. To make a long story
short, I was told by a couple indididuals just to "Re-
format" my hard drive and all my problems would go away.
BULL!! Now 7 re-formats later, XP is tripping more and
more. Everything is blurry, my start button is BLACK,
and through this last re-install my screen kept flashing
with a black-out. My BIOS Utilities have been engraved
with my every process , because I bought a WIPEDRIVE
software to eliminate the partitions on my hard drive
(included with the history of installations embedded in
sectors I couldn't begin to understand but You can
probably pull them up with ease. Needless to say, ALL
MY EQUIPMENT AND SOFTWARE is legit, I have receipts and
original boxes for proof, not to mention the real
software discs if I need to provide any verification.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT I HAVE TO DO TO FIX THIS!!?? I
hope I don't have to buy a whole new set up again. And I
sure as hell can't afford a $60 an hour rate for
servicing, at who knows howmany hours to complete the
fixing phase. As of now I haven't installed any
additional software that I have due to the fact that I'm
not sure if that is a good idea right now. My creative
Audigy software pops-up an error message during
installation of Non-compatible demeanor but has an opton
to force it on, "Install anyway". I really, really,
really need to get back to recording. But just as
important as that, is all the money I've spent that I
don't want to be deemed wasted. I apprieciate your
product, your innovation feeds my oppurtunity but for now
I need to tune it back in key.

Respectfully waiting,

I'm sure somewhere in all this verbiage is an issue but not sure what it is.
If you are worried about hackers the easiest why to block them is with a
router and firewall. No matter how many times you format, if your system is
wide open it can be invaded.

If there are any other issues in all of this, please just state what they
are, any error messages, etc. and drop the story and editorializing because
it just hides whatever it is your trying to resolve.

with any of this well spent money did you happen to
spend an extra 10 bucks on a warranty? Between your
computer manufacturer and circuit city ya should of got at
least a 12 month warranty. and usually even covers owner
foolhardines. the book windows for dummies should be
standard reading for any new computer owner. It is a book
by the way not trying to insult you . vgl2u
