wmv won't play in ppt

my wmv files, created with moviemaker won't play in ppt...

the audio portion plays, but without any video...

any ideas?

Hm. I think I'd start by checking my MCI settings and make sure they
match those at

What version of MovieMaker? Were the WMV's created on the same machine as
the presentation? What version of Windows Media Player do you have
installed? Any of these things could be the root of the problem in
addition to the MCI settings.

But just for clarification, it sounds like you are able to insert the
movies. Is that correct? And I even hate to mention it, but have you
played the presentation in Slide Show mode? I ask because the movies won't
play in Normal view.

Thank you for your time... I solved the problem by installing the
"latest" version of the windows media player... i wish all problems
could be this easy ;-)

This is something to keep in mind, if you ever find the need to distribute
the presentation. Your success will be dependent on the version of WMP on
the target systems.
