.WMV Files in IE6

I don't know when this started as I don't have occasion
to view .WMV files.

When I click the link to open the file, instead of
Windsows Media Player opening the file, I get a new
browser page open and the RAW .WMV file displays as TEXT.

I have reset the file associations in Windows with this
file type and checked the 'add-ons' in Internet options.

Any help would be great
