wmv file problems

Hello I am inserting a wmv file in PP 2002. The icon
that appears is the audio speaker! The wmv file (video
and sound) works fine in the Windows Media player.
When I insert the same file in PP 2003 I revieve a black
square; when I "run" the video the square turns white but
no video or sound.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Several things to try. Make sure that your video driver is up to date. Also
make certain that you have the latest version of DirectX installed. Go to Start

Run and type dxdiag and press OK. The displayed window will show the version

of DirectX at the bottom on the list on the System tab. You will also be able
to explore the other tabs to see the driver version for your video card, for
example. Also adjust your hardware acceleration. These links should help:
