WMP and .avi

Using WMP 10 and I can't view an .avi file made with WMM. A .wmv version of the
same video plays fine. What do I need to do to be able to view .avi videos?

Tried that and got "This file cannot be opened"

"AviParser::parseChunkTree()Unhandled fcc type : iavs in strf"

In WMP, the first pic comes up, no sound. If I manually advance the slider, the
pictures progress in order.

The AVI files that don't display in WMP are DV-AVI (ntsc) generated by WMM. I
understand (I could be wrong) that is the preferred format to use in burning
DVDs with maximum quality.

If it was made with WMM then it isn't a DIVX file.
IT is more likely a problem with the rendering from WMM.
You said it worked as a WMV but not as an AVI and you are correct DV-AVI is
the best way to go when you wnat to end up with a DVD unless the project is
all audio and still images in which case you are better off using the High
Quality NTSC/PAL setting.

So lets look at your project and find out where the problem is.
What type(s) of files are you using (extensions)?
How long is the project?
How many transitions?
What are your computer specs?
