WM6 Development Tools

Hi there! Back in school, I used to play around with the PocketPC
development tools. My work just got me a WM6 device and I'd like to try
developing for it just for fun. However, from my Googleing around, it
appears that the only way to use the WM6 SDK is to have Visual Studio 2008
Professional installed. Is this true? Is there no longer a free (or cheap)
way to develop for the Pocket PC platform?

You need VS2005, really, although 2008 is fine. No, eMbedded Visual C++
doesn't work with the WM6 device SDKs. I think that you can get a VS2005
evaluation version download from MS. It would run out in a couple of
months, but that would tell you if it's worth buying. Yes, here it is:

It supports all windows mobile devices (including WM6), and it is much
cheaper than Visual Studio professional.
