WJview ERROR

Chris

Everytime I start my computer, an error message
appears: "WJview ERROR: cannot execute
main...", something like that. I have Windows XP and this
also occurs on my
other computer which has Windows ME. How can I fix this
problem? Please help!

PS: If it helps, before this error poped-up, I had
transfered my backedup files back onto my laptop from my
other computer. The computer that my backed up files are
on have the same error message when starting.

Hi!
If Wjview attempts to start an application on your system that no longer
exists then you might receive such error. Wjview helps in viewing window
based java applications.
Start > Run > Type "msconfig" > Startup tab.
*Find "wjview" in the list

If you get "wjview" entries, disable the Wjview startup component
and locate any associated folders identified in Msconfig that you might
need to delete to determine whether that solves the problem.

If the above fails:-
To delete the Wjview entries rather than disabling them (and to check
under non-XP OSs), perform the following steps:

Start > Run > Regedit > ok
Navigate to
{HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run}
and {HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
registry subkeys} > Remove the invalid Wjview entries

The startup is trying to run a Java program that has been deleted -
WJView is the launcher for the Java engine. There seems to be some
trojan around of this sort, and the AV programs remove the Java file
without removing the entry to run the WJView and launch it: hence the
error message. Start - Run - MSConfig and in the Startup page look for
a line for WJView as command and uncheck it
