With Windows Vista I can only ping my gateway but not another PC

I am Using Windows Vista and I can only Ping my gateway. When I try to Ping
another PC in my network I am unable to ping. This is working fine with
Windows XP. I have even turned the firewall off on my Vista Machine and I am
still having no luck. Any suggestions to correct this issue would be
appreciated.

Since I don't know what you did to set up file sharing in Vista, here is
an excellent link that takes you through it easily:

Don't forget to set up XP's file sharing, too. The easiest way is to run
the Network Setup Wizard on XP and then make sure 1) you only have one
firewall running since the Wizard turns on the SP2 Windows Firewall; 2)
configure any third-party firewall to allow the LAN as trusted. It is
also helpful to create identical user accounts and passwords on all
machines and have the same Workgroup set.
