Hi guys.

i have a desktop which is connected to a wireless router
i am getting a new centrino laptop with integrated wirelss built in.

can u guys point me out some sites ( like tutorials ) which might be
helpful in setting my laptop to built a wireless netowrk (sharing both
computers, internet sharing.... so on )

If it's running the new SP2 it should practically configure itself.

Use the network setup wizard so the machine knows what connection it will be
using for the internet, then simply search for wireless networks it'll list
em all connect to the one you want, it may prompt you for the security keys
etc and it should then just work.

how do i set up my security settings so that only my laptop will recognize
the wireless network and no one else will log on to my network.

You'll do that on your wireless router. Logon to that and there should be a
security option where you can turn it on and set the keys etc.

You want to set the Wireless connection Properties (all round) to use
WEP encryption and set up its password - 13 characters. When joining
the net a new connection will in SP2 come up to ask for the password
(and ought to remember it for the future).

You want to make the network simple peer to peer 'ad hoc'; make sure you
have the same Workgroup name on each machine, but differing Computer
names (in Control Panel - System - Computer name), and have matching
logon accounts/passwords on each for users who will want access to other
machines
