wireless won't connect after update

I installed several updates to Win XP Pro last evening.
Now my wireless card will not connect. The network is
recognized as present but when I click on "allow
connection" it simply returns to the same screen.
Network is up and can connect on other computers. Tried
to restore to 2 days ago - before updates - but says
unable to do so. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling
wireless adapter without success. Adapter is Linksys PCI
Wireless.

Remove hotfix 826942 if you have that in your list. That causes WPA to be
used (as opposed to WEP) and might cause problems with hardware that is
not capable of WPA. You can, however, upgrade the firmaware of your cards
and router to be WPA capable if possible, and still keep the hotfix if you
need resolution to the issues addreessed by that patch.

I determined via KB article the Wireless Zero Configruation service could be
disabled which would allow me to get a connection. Still lost connection
after every reboot however so finally just did complete reinstall from
manufacturer restore disk. Thanks for the responses.
