wireless signals drop

Hi:
i am experiencing strange problem in vista ultimate. vista detects my
access point and for few minutes work fine but soon after that the signal
strength goes down and it disconnects .this problem never occured in windows
xp sp2 .
i am using Dlink AP and my wireless card is atheros 5005 (acer aspire 5100
builin card).with default vista drivers.

My guess is you have a "green" PC and your PC is not set to performance. If
so your PC will send a signal to the wireless access point telling it to
buffer data. From your description your access point can't do this and is
dropping the connection. Check for a firmware update for the access point,
or set your PC to always on high performance mode.
