Wireless share question

Anyone ever try to create a null modem connection from one system to another
and use the wireless connection on one of the systems as a gateway for the
other?

Confused? Here is a better explanation;

System 1 is connected to a wireless network, full connection, no issues.

System 2 is connected to system 1 via null modem or even by hub or router
physically (cat 5 or USB).

Can the wireless connection be used as a gateway for system 2? If so, what
would the IP addressing be, wireless router would be 192.168.0.1 internet
DNS assigned by wireless router.

Also, has anyone ever heard or tried to connect to wireless routers together
as a single wireless network?

Using System 1 as a wireless bridge, and supplying Internet service to System 2
can be done, but the setup is a bit painful.

Generally, you'd use ICS to share the connection. But ICS requires 192.168.0/24
on the LAN servicing System 2. This is a problem if the WiFi router LAN has to
use 192.168.0/24.

To answer the second question, WiFi meshes are being developed, supposedly to
replace or complement broadband. The future of this concept is open to
discussion. I personally am skeptical. As I am skeptical about Super-G WiFi in
any populated area. Remember WiFi is a shared medium, and only one neighbor can
use it at any time.
