Wireless network works without being detected

Hello!

I have a Linksys B router connected via Verizon DSL, and my DELL
Windows XP laptop has a Linksys Wireless Adapter. I can browse the
internet fine. HOWEVER, the network is never detected. Wireless
Network Connections always shows "No wireless networks found in range".
It used to detect the network, and at some point several months ago it
stopped. I don't know exactly what I did to break the detection. This
is not a major issue, since I still connect to the Internet without the
network being actually detected, but it's a mystery I'm trying to
solve. Has anyone encountered something like this?

Your help with be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
Elana

Do you have other PCs in the same wireless network and the same Workgroup to
which you were able to connect?

Sounds like it is using the Linksys Adapter configuration utility rather
than the windows Wireless Zero Configuration. Normally there is another
connection icon on the right task bar for the linksys utility that shows
signal strength, available networks as well as settings for your encryption
keys and ssid saved configurations. You use either one or d'other, but
not both at same time.
