Wireless network problem

After a new install of XP Pro and a Linksys wireless router I have no
wireless communication. Error msg says that the wireless network adapter is
disconnected and I can't connect it. Adapter: Realtek RTL8139 Family PCI Fast
Ethernet NIC...Help.

Well as far as I know you can't connect wirelessly to anything with a
Realtek RTL8139 because its a 10/100 Ethernet NIC. Not a wireless card. You
need to get a wireless adapter to do wireless.

Additional info:

The Realtek RTL8139 network adapter requires a network cable.
