Wireless network cannot connect, wired can

Im having very strange problems with a pc. A WinXP PC with a wireless card
can see the wireless network, but yet when it attempts to connect it fails.
It never sends or receives any packets. This network works fine with other
wireless devices. I have tried other hardware i know to work fine. If i
connect up a standard RJ45 then all is fine and i can access the network.

I cannot find any reason why a wireless network system would find the
network as to show it in the list of available networks, but yet not manage
to connect/aquire address. I have tried disabling the security etc, but
this made no difference, although i didnt expect it to because even if it
failed at this point it would have sent a few packets of information
attempting to connect. At present i am getting 0 packets out and 0 packets
in.

I ahve tried reinstalling the card / drivers etc.

Sorted it. it turns out that it was the firewall software, even when it was
disabled it still got it the way. Uninstalled it and reinstalled and
everything was fine.

Thanks
