Wireless Connection Issue After W2K SP4 Install

I recently upgraded my PC with a D-Link DWL-G132 802.11G USB wireless
adaptor. After getting the box online, I immediately went to the Windows
Update website and downloaded SP4. Upon restart, the Wireless adaptor
immediately reestablished its connection. Oddly, however, there appears to
be no actual data transfer. Packets are sent, however none are received.
This problem arose immediately and only after SP4 install. I have checked and
rechecked all of the wireless networking parameters and they match with the
Belkin AP used in my house.

Any Ideas?

Trey,

SP4 completely revamps the way that wireless connections are handled --
adding support for things like 802.1x and the like. If you were using the
system tray application that came with your wireless card to make the
connection, I would suggest uninstalling it and re-installing the
application. This should resolve the problem.

Otherwise, you will need to go through the settings carefully to make sure
that 802.1x is not on, that the computer account is not trying to
authenticate, and that the WEP settings you had before persisted.

SP4 does some really great things for wireless... not as much as XP sp2,
but you have to be careful.
