wireless clients disconnecting very often - I will drop dead soon!

We have a wireless network that is mainly used in our stock. It
consists of Symbol access points and Symbol PDT scanners with M$
Pocket PC 2002. They
use an application which runs on 8 M$ Terminal Servers under CITRIX
Metaframe XP.
This whole system works for nearly a year now with some Citrix and M$
related problems but the wireless network was fine so far.
Since two weeks the scanners seem to loose their network connection,
sometimes in intervals of minutes sometines hours. I write "seem to
loose" because it is hard to say if they do. The only thing we see, is
that the Citrix application freezes and after some seconds a message
pops up saying that the connection is lost and if you want to
reconnect. What we also found is interesting "Ping behaviour". You
have a scanner connected to the network and working, you send a ping
to it and it takes, say 7 or 10 tries till the first answer comes
back. Also the ping times to the wireless devices are mostly betweem
100 and 400ms!!! The supplier says that's alright (can you believe
that?). If you ping the access point it only 3ms. If you ping the
scanner and at the same time the scanner ping you then response time
from the scanner goes down to 6ms! Is that strange? Laptops with
wireless cards also loose their network connection, but it seems not
so often compared to the scanners.
We switched off all access points and used only one with one scanner:
same results. We disconnected the anntennas of the access point to
limit it's signal and putted the scanner close to it to avoid any
other signal from outside to interfer: same result. We tried with all
of our 10 scanners, we even disconnected some access points completely
from our regular network and put them on one hub and also on one
switched together with one of our Metaframe servers: same result. We
tried ICA and RDP connections, both same result. We tried to find any
external changes made at that day, but there was nothing we could
find.
I tell you we will all soon go nuts if we don't find the cause for
these problems. Please anybody had something close to this problem??

Thanks for listening

Markus
