Home network consists of:
1) Linksys WRT54GS router
supports wired and wireless connections
2) HP desktop, XP Home SP2
uses wired ethernet
3) HP Photosmart 2710 AIO _networked_ printer
supports wired, wireless, BT
uses wired ethernet
I've had these for a while. The HP desktop can access the internet
and print to the printer.
4) new Dell laptop, XP Pro SP2
supports wired, wireless, BT
uses wireless
The Dell can access the internet, so it seems to work with
the router OK.
I am trying to 1) print from the Dell to the networked printer
and 2) share files between the Dell and the HP desktop.
I can't get this to work. I'm wondering if XP can "see through
the router" to detect "the other kind" (i.e., wired vs. wireless)
of connection.
Can someone step me through this please.
