WinXP SP2 fully up to date with updates

When I boot up Win XP it has just started to load My Documents instead of
going to the DeskTop with all my icons How do I revert back please?

Click Start, Run and enter REGEDIT Go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows NT/CurrentVersion/Winlogon

In the right pane locate the UserInit value. It should read something like:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe,

Including the comma at the end. The above assumes that XP is installed in C:\Windows. If not, then take that into account when editing this string. To change it, just double click it and enter the correct string.

For an automated fix, see www.dougknox.com, Win XP Fixes, My Documents Folder Opens at Logon
