WinXP Service Pack 2 can now be ordered from Microsoft on CD for free at:

Remember that it will set the Windows firewall. If you use the firewall,
make sure you check on whatever servers you might be running. It didn't
pick up Argosoft's news server nor Apache web server.

Well, I'll have to wait until 14 september for mine (XP home, dutch version)

But I'm realy sitting on the fence with this one: Whether I should install
it or not.

For once, I'm all but happy about the firewall thingy (I know it can be
turned off, but even the fact that microsoft is forcing it on you makes me
shiver...)

On the otherhand, I'm a systemcadministrator for quite a few companies, and
I should give the right example, keeping the systems updated.

it's a simple matter to turn it off...control panel->windows
firewall...select to not use.
