WinXP Prof not recognizing external hard drive/mp3 player any longer?

Hi, I have an iRiver iHP-120 MP3 player that i am trying to connect to
a computer. I have connected it via a regular USB cable before with
no problems but now (and to my knowledge nothing has changed) it tells
me that the "device is unrecognized". I am able to connect this to
Macs, Linux Boxes, and windows boxes (including this one) with no
problem until now. Since it doesn't really have any drivers i am not
sure how to resolve this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

Go to the Device Manager, highlight the Category, Scan for hardware changes.
