AFter several frmats and installations it has been
impossible to make winXP work properly.

I have 4 PCs 3 of which are on WinXP pro. One shares
internet ISDN. Configurations are as follows
PC1 (internet)
192.168.0.1
255.255.255.0

PC2
192.168.0.2
255.255.255.0

PC3 Laptop
192.168.0.3
255.255.255.0

PC4 (win98) This works FINE!!!!!!!
192.168.0.110
255.255.255.0

PC2 & PC3 cannot have access to internet
PC3 doesn't present the oter computer names in My network
places, when I press the "view workgroup computers", but
can change folders. Ping command works fine with all
computers. Additionlly, when I load the Internet
Explorer, somthing happens as if someone is pressing the
stop button repeatedly. Hence, IE becomes useless.

In pc2 just sais "page cannot be diplayed"

The Win98,though, works perfect. Sees internet, exchanges
files etc.

Additionally, I have a USB wifi adapter by D-Link (DWL-
120). In win98 works perfectly BUT in win XP, when I try
to install the software, the system reboots repeatedy.
More specifically, The system boot, and JUST BEFORE it
becomes available suts down abruptly and reboots!!

Win XP pro is ALL PROBLEMS. CAN'T WE EVER HAVE A PROPER
OPERATING SYSTEM BY MICROSOFT???
From November I haven't been able to make Win Xp work
properly untill the present moment.

Yea, I'm having a whore of a time getting things setup as they are under
98SE in XP pro also. Boot back to 98SE (dual-boot) and everything works
like a charm without all the endless "security" overkill.
