WinXP ntbackup tape naming problem

Ok. First time poster long time user. Odd problem here folks so if anyone
has any idea please let me know.

Dell Precision Workstation 340
Windows XP Pro w/SP 1

System is doing a normal nightly backup. Tape is rotated every day. Tape is
named Daily Backup and is set to rename any used or new tapes to the same
name. Automatic backups are not working. If I do a manual backup and tell it
that the name of the tape is Daily Backup then it will not work saying that
the media is not mounted in the drive. However if I cancel out and tell it
that it is a new tape then it come up telling me that it is not a new tape
but one labeled Daily backup and would I like to use it instead. It will go
thru and work fine once that is done but because of this odity it will not do
a schedualed backup. I tried setting the name as Daily Backup and also tried
setting it as new in the backup wizard. Nothing worked. Manual backups can
be run but automated backups are a must. If anyone has a clue as to what is
going on please let me know because NT and 2000 did not have this problem.
