WinXP & DCOM

[Completely Lost]

When I click on Start/Control Panel/double-click Admin
Tools/double-click Component Services/double-click
Component Services again/click the plus sign in front of
the Computers folder the Component Services screen
disappears. I know it is because DCOM has probs and
doesn't want to start.

Is there a way that I can disable dcom from a command
prompt?

I get DCOM errors in Event Viewer and just want to get it
disabled and be rid of it.

I had already tried DCOMbobulator. It won't allow me to disable DCOM
because it is not running but thanks anyway.
