winword startup syntax

i found some indications that winword can be started w/ a stated template. i
made a simple template called bigfonts.dot and saved it, it only sets the
document font to bold 18 (for testing). i then tried starting with 'winword
\tc:\bigfonts.dot c:\sample.txt' [i think that means to start winword, set
the font to the bigfonts and then load sample.txt] or 'windows c:\sample.txt
\lc:\bigfonts.dot' [this was supposed to start windowd, open sample.txt then
load the bigfonts.dot template and apply the new font settings]. but neither
of those worked. to be truthful perhaps my template isnt done correctly as
if i manually open sample.txt and then go to winword i cant figure out how to
'apply' my bigfont template to it anyway.

maybe i need help first on how to apply a new 'template' to an existing
document.

then advice how to do the startup actions.

thanks.

/ttemplatename
Start Word with a new document based on a template other than the Normal
template (Normal template: A global template that you can use for any type of
document. You can modify this template to change the default document
formatting or content.). Example: /tMyfax.dot
Note If the file name has spaces in it, enclose the complete name in
quotation marks — for example, /t"Elegant Report.dot"

(it appears you might be using a backslash " \t... " instead of a frontslash
" /t... ")
