Ray

Hi,

I have been using MSASW beta for sometime now ... every
morning I see same list of 4~5 spyware in the summary
report. The program claims it cleaned those spyware but
they come back in next scheduled scan. Spyware are

WinTools Trojan
HuntBar Browser Modifier
IBIS Toolbar Adware
Altnet Browser Plug-in
WhenU.SaveNow Adware

I do have adawre but that doesnot clean these stubborn
entities. I am going to try SpySweeper .. Any
suggestions, recommendations or advice will be appriciated

Hi

First of all, are you running latest version
and definitions ?? Help-about

1.0.615 and defs 5757 latest.

These spyware are everyone old threats so something must be wrong
with your copy.

Download latest from www.microsoft.com > "Popular downloads" and
install, check updates with Menu file > Check for updates.

Also download CCleaner, www.ccleaner.com and remove all temporarily
junk.

Download/Install Lavasofts Adaware
http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022-10399602.html?tag=list

After install upgrade Adaware definitions with "Check for updates".

- Restart in safe mode, press F8 during reboot just before Windows flag
screen appears.

- Scan with MSAS and Lavasoft Adaware, choose "full scans".

And let us know if it works.............

Have you tried deep scanning in safe mode ? Just after the
POST screen keep tapping the F8 key then choose the Safe
Mode option. Try also scanning with Spybot S&D and Adaware
SE. If you still have a problem then try the following URLs

Wintools: http://www.pchell.com/support/wintools.shtml
Huntbar: http://www.pchell.com/support/huntbar.shtml
Ibis Toolbar Adaware: Take a look at this thread posted
from Engel on the PCReview web site.
http://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/thread-2132014.php
WhenU.Savenow Adaware:
http://www.antivirusworld.com/articles/virus/savenow.php

Hope this helps.
