"An update to our first release of 7.0 is now on our website,
www.WinPatrol.com.

Just fixed a couple bugs but will be needed if you're someone who modifies
your host files to reduce ads or uses our localized versions. Nothing that
could have broken anything new

Fixed:
Unable to turn off Host file monitoring
Some text fields to fit French and German text
Cookie sorting bug
Alert messages we're set to TOP_MOST
Looping warning from programs disabled by earlier versions of WinPatrol
that no longer existed.

Thanks again,
Bill Pytlovany

Is there a way to start WinPatrol minimized and silently? If not, it's
pretty useless.

Looking at the previous version (6.0) now and from that I would say
no. Even tried to edit the "run" option in the shortcut, on the
shortcut tab, run: minimized instead of run: normal window, but it
still pops up. Would except it to only pop up if something changes,
but it seems it insists on opening when it starts.

OK, installed the latest (7.0.0.5). This one behaves it seems, no
opening of application window when started, only sits in the tray and
only prompts if changes found.

All the best,

Weirdness. I can't get 7.0.0.5 to quit popping up on startup. Too bad. It's
a nice little program.

Maybe not..i just had to perform a reboot, so I figured I'd try it
again...but now it pops up here too. Don't know why it seemed to
behave when I tried it earlier.

Hehehe... that makes it _NAGWARE_. Argh, that nagging will be the death of
me some day.

btw, maybe <http://www.winpatrol.com/faq.html#faq12> may help. But
suggestion there only applies for when loading WinPatrol at startup it
seems. Not tested it, do not run Winpatrol at startup here (but
Regrun3, shareware) ps: you could always e-mail them w/suggestion for
improvement...

I've been using WinPatrol since some months (and also earlier versions) and
it always starts up minimized in the tray bar, even if I start it manually
(though my default is to start it at Windows boot up).
I've never seen a nag screen.
My OS is Windows XP Home SP1.

Bjorn and Maria,

Got it.

Seems that if you allow it to "Start With Windows", it starts minimized.
When you un-check this option, it will not start minimized. I'm cool with
that.
