WinMail.exe

This new program showed up on my desktop yesterday, WinMail.exe.
Doesn't seem to do anything when I try to run it.
Anyone know about this? (Regular Windows Mail works fine)
Thanks

Winmail.exe is the Windows Mail application. The question is how did it
arrive on your desktop without you putting it there? Does it have the window
mail icon, i.e., the letter rack? If it doesn't do anything when you click
on it, but Windows Mail works normally, you could try deleting the link and
leaving it in the recycle bin for a while to see if everything works okay.

Thanks for reply.
Yes, the desktop icon does show the letter rack with letters in it.
I'll do as you suggested and delete it and see what happens.

The icon does show the letter box, with letters.
I deleted it as you suggested, this morning, and Windows Mail still working ok.

Hi Malcolm,

Give it a few more days just to make sure then you can delete it from the
recycle bin. It may be a case that you inadvertently created a shortcut to
Windows Mail on your desktop. I've occasionally done it myself, but all I do
is delete the desktop icon. Only the icon is deleted not the actually
application that it is linked to.

I thought I replied to this, but not showing.
I deleted the Winmail.exe as you suggested, and Windows Mail is still working ok.
Thanks, Malcolm B.
