Winlogon problem

C

Ceceme

When I try to logon on a w2k domain controller, logon
screen keeps reappearing and denies me to logon. No errors
are recorded or popups appear. From the network I can gain
access to server and all system services works well. From
a terminal session i can't logon.

All interactively logon are denied without an error.

Does anybody know what's the matter?

Thanks

Cesare

- What's the recent history of the machine?
- What are the permissions of c:\winnt\system32\userinit.exe?
- Where does this registry key point to:
HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows NT/Current Version/
Winlogon/Userinit

No one logoff administrator from server console for quite
a lot. First time I restarted machine trouble arised.
Maybe virus?? Mcafee Netshield was running last time I was
logged on.

\userinit.exe?

DOMAIN\administrators: full control
Everyone: read and execute
Authenticad users: read and execute
DOMAIN\Server operators: Modify
System: Full control

HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Windows NT/Current Version/
Winlogon/Userinit

userinit: REG_SZ:%systemroot%\system32\userinit.exe

I've already tried this procedure but it doesn't apply:
