Me again
I ran windows spychecker and it picked up backdoor:win32/rbot.gen, but was
unable to clean.
I located the file from search c:windows\winlogin.exe and scanned it woth
AVG but no virus was found. I am bemused.
I am not able to get into safe mode to perform a check. If I enable safe
mode in the msconfig boot will I be able to return to normal window - is it
failsafe.
Regards.

Safe Mode is a special booted mode you normally have to request. If you
don't do anything to start Safe Mode, then the machine should Restart in
regular mode. Safe Mode simply starts windows with a minimal set of
drivers.

Nothing is fail safe. That's why one must always have full and complete
backup. A drive imaging program with an external drive is a good choice.
