winlog.exe-no disk

DesertIsland

I am getting the following continuous pop-up message on a PC that is NOT
connected to the internet: "winlog.exe - no disk...There is no disk in the
drive. Please insert a disk into drive A...Cancel, Try Again or Continue."

This message occurs no matter what I am attempting on the computer as I do
not use drive A.

Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue.

This looks as if WINLOG is configured to log something
to a file on A:

But is it malware? There is no WINLOG.EXE in my
WinXP PC. When did you last check for malware?

There is no native Windows command "winlog.exe". Your machine might have
some malware or a virus. Best to scan it immediately with a good virus
scanner.

First try this:
Click Start >> My Recent Documents >> Is there is a file/folder pointing to
A:\ drive? If there is please delete it from the list by selecting it and
right click then select Delete.

It doesn't mean you are not connect to the Internet the computer will not
get infected, for accessing/doing work surely you will use some removable
storages like Floppy/CD/Flash stick/USB stick..etc to Export/Import docs!
