WinDVD 4 issues

Prior to my system reformat, WinDVD 4 worked fine. I did
a clean install of XP and put all my software back on,
including the latest audio drivers for the TB Santa
Cruz. Now when I play a DVD in WinDVD 4, I get no sound
when the S/PDIF Digital out is selected. I get sound if
I choose 4 speaker Analog out.

If I play a DVD in Media Player 8, my Dolby Digital
output works 100%. Also, if I play an audio CD in WinDVD
4, I get Dolby sound. It only does not work when I play
a DVD, and as I mentioned, it worked fine with the same
drivers prior to the format.

I tried WinDVD 5, but no luck. How can I get WinDVD 4 to
once again provide Digital output?

A temporary fix is to set compatability for windvd to
windows NT 4.0 (service pack 5) by right clicking on the
shortcut and clicking on the compatability tab. Works for
windvd 3, if not,go to: kowledge base article # 329623
for the "real" fix from microsoft.

worked on my system. resolved the seeing video but
hearing no sound issue. Also resolved (my) discoloration
issue where everything is tinted red.
