Hi All:

I have problems win my wxp w/sp2 and antispyware beta 1,
this detects mediaaccess adware and remove it "temporaly"
but after reboot the computer it apperars again. I
suspect that this adware installs during shutdown
process, but i do not know what windows execute during
shutdown. Does some one have removed succesfully this
adware? Dos someone know all shutdown process, may it can
help me and to others.

King Regards ...

I don't think that it installs during shutdown.

Since you said you are running XP, I think I might know
where to look. First download a FREE file shredder from
download.com (this will come in handy when you want to
securely shred files in the future). Go to
c:\windows\prefetch and see if the infections listed are
contained in the filenames. If so, first close any
applicationa that it's linked to. Next, shred all of the
files that contain the name of the infection in their
filenames. You might have to boot into Safe Mode (press
F8 during boot/reboot, and select only Safe Mode -
usually the top option) in order to shred all of these
files, as some might have been in use in Normal Mode.

Also, running a full system scan in Safe Mode seems to
help remove these types of infections. However, removing
the files from the prefetch folder is paramount here.
The reason is that whenever you launch the application
that the infection has linked itself to, you will get
reinfected!

- Download CCleaner, www.ccleaner.com , remove all temporarily junk.

- Download Lavasofts Adaware
http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10399602.html?tag=pop

Done, maybe its needed to restart in safe mode, press F8 during reboot.
Scan again with MSAS and Adaware, always choose "Full Scan"
