WindowsXP Recovery Error ?

I was changing servers and ran a system recovery, because my CA security
suite told me I had 7 viruses but stopped giving me an option to remove or
quarantine them. When recovery finished all was well EXCEPT there was no
volume (sound) icon in the bottom tray (lower right hand corner) and no sound
at all. Adjusting all the other volume controls (knob on speakers, slider on
videos I watch) does no good at all. No sound.
HELP !

OK, that is not changing servers, that is just changing the ISP as you say.
It sounded like you were on a network and had run a recovery on a network
server.

You don't say anything about what computer you are using or what sound
adaptor you are using. Have you reistalled the sound drivers?
